ANOTHER DOUBLE WIN WEEKEND FOR SRIXON AND THE Z-STAR 3 PIECE GOLF BALL

Jiménez Wins the Alstrom Open de France

Spain's Miguel Ángel Jiménez took a 2 shot lead into the 72nd hole at the Alstrom Open de France. Following a perfect drive, a miss-hit 8 iron into the green fell short into the water and led to a double bogey 6 to finish at 11 under par and tied with clubhouse leader Francesco Molinari.

This left the door open for fellow Spaniard Alejandro Cañizares but he narrowly missed his birdie putt at the last to make it a 3 way tie at 11 under par.

The 3 players headed back up the tough 18th hole for a sudden death play-off where Molinari and Cañizares both made errors. Jiménez was left with a 15 foot putt to take the title which he duly holed to be crowned the champion and awarded the €500,000 first prize.

This win gives Srixon Z-Star 3 piece golf ball player Miguel Ángel Jiménez his 17th European Tour title; it takes him back into the world top 35, puts him 5th in the Ryder Cup points and 6th in the Race to Dubai.

Mason's 23rd win matches Tommy Horton's record and moves him back inside the top 10 in the Seniors Tour Order of Merit, whilst Ruankit retains his lead following 3 wins this season.
Srixon/Cleveland Golf's New Tour Truck Makes its Debut

Srixon/Cleveland Golf unveiled a brand new state-of-the art Tour Truck at the Handa Senior Masters last week.?

The event, which saw some of the top Senior Tour players on the European circuit compete around Stapleford Park golf course, was the perfect showcase for the brand new Srixon/Cleveland Golf Tour truck.

It is the first Tour truck to feature joint Srixon/Cleveland Golf branding, reflecting the fact that the two companies are now both owned by SRI Sports, which bought the assets to Cleveland Golf at the start of 2009.

The Tour truck then moved up the road to Stoke Park for the weekend and became a key attraction at O2 Golf Live, the brand new public golf show held from 14-16th May. Srixon and Cleveland Golf sponsored the Short Game Area at Golf Live allowing visitors to test all the latest Cleveland Golf wedges, including the new CG15, and the entire range of Srixon golf balls.

Visitors were also treated to an exclusive sneak peek into the world of professional golf, courtesy of a custom-fit wedge building service offered on the Tour truck. Srixon/Cleveland Golf’s custom-fit experts were on hand to offer first-class advice and suggest the most suitable wedge and ball combination to suit the club golfers’ games.?

The Cleveland Golf wedges were then custom built on the Tour truck with the correct loft, lie, shaft and bounce options. Special added touches including a custom grind and custom engrave service, wowed the lucky participants who were able to walk away with their brand new Cleveland Golf wedge or set of wedges and golf balls on the day.

“Golf Live was a unique opportunity for the average golfer to get custom fit for a new Cleveland Golf wedge with the same level of service as the Tour professional,” said Cleveland Golf Europe Marketing Manager Ben Davis.?“Our new Tour truck and custom fit service proved to be an extremely popular attraction. Over 1,000 golfers visited the Srixon/Cleveland Golf Short Game Area over the weekend, and in excess of 150 wedges were custom built on the Tour truck.

”?The Srixon/Cleveland Golf Tour truck is currently making its first appearance on The European Tour, and is in prime position at the back of the practice putting green at Wentworth Golf Club for the BMW Championship this week.?“The Tour truck has received a lot of positive attention already,” said Srixon/Cleveland Golf Tour truck manager Iain Clarke. “All the players are popping in to have a look around at this fantastic new facility, which allows me to cater for their every need. There’s no doubt our Staff players will be serviced to a very high standard this season.

Srixon Z-Star golf ball player Laura Davies took her 74th career title this weekend with a win at the UniCredit Ladies German Open. Coming from 9 shots behind at the halfway point of the tournament Davies shot a 4 under par 68 on the final day giving her an 11-under 277 total and vicrory by 2 shots.

Meanwhile, Sakura Yokomine took her first win of 2010 at the Fundokin Ladies Open in Japan with a 4 under par 68 on the final round, giving a 9 under par total and the title by 1 shot from fellow competitor Hyun-Ju Shin.

Elsewhere, Jaco Van Zyl won the Nachua Golf Challenge on the Sunshine Tour with Phil McIntyre as runner up, whilst on the European Seniors Tour Boonchu Ruangkit finished as runner-up in the Handa Senior Masters with Carl Mason 4th.

Srixon players rounded off another fantastic weekend with Gonzalo Fernandez Castano taking 5th place in the Mallorcan Open and Garth Mulroy finishing 6th in the Valero Texas Open.

This outstanding performance takes the total number of tour wins so far in 2010 for the Z-STAR golf ball to 21.
ANOTHER SRIXON Z-STAR ONE/TWO

CLARK TAKES THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND HIS FIRST US PGA TOUR WIN IN 204 EVENTS. ALLENBY HOLDS ON TO TAKE THE NUMBER 2 SPOT.

Srixon Z-Star golf ball player Tim Clark went into the final round at the TPC Sawgrass 2 shots behind fellow Srixon player Robert Allenby and 3 shots behind tournament leader Lee Westwood.

Five birdies in six holes around the turn put Clark in the driving seat, going into the last 4 holes with a 2 shot advantage. The form stayed with him to the end, making par at the renowned 17th island-green and holing an 8ft putt at 18 to finish with a best of the day final round 5 under par 67. Tim Clarks bogey free final 26 holes also delivered him the record for the biggest 36 hole comeback on the Stadium Course.

As leader in the clubhouse by 2, all he could do was sit and wait as fellow competitors Robert Allenby, Lucas Glover and Davis Love III all battled away in the toughest conditions of the 4 days. His nearest rival and fellow Srixon Z-Star golf ball player Robert Allenby, had his chances to level the scores but narrowly missed an eagle opportunity at 16 and his birdie putt at 17 slipped away, giving Clark his first USPGA title in 204 events and 12 years of trying. Tim Clark said afterwards "I did all I could out there, it was as good as I could have played".

The victory moves Tim Clark up 20 places in the world rankings to 20th, whilst 2nd for Robert Allenby jumped him to 12th position – an all time career high ranking.

Another fantastic 1 / 2 for the Srixon players and the Z-STAR golf ball – 18 wins so far on tour's worldwide in 2010.
A RECORD ROUND OF 58 FOR THE WIN

RYO ISHIKAWA USES SRIXON Z-STAR GOLF BALL FOR RECORD ROUND OF 58!

At his Press Conference before the start of the Crowns Event on the Japanese Tour last Tuesday, Ryo Ishikawa told the assembled Press that he credited his increase in Driving Distance to the Srixon Z-STAR golf ball that he was now using and that he also found that this ball had exceptional feel with his wedges.

His opening 3 rounds were 68, 70 & 71 and he was 6 shots behind with one round to go.

He then shot a final round of 12 under par 58, the lowest score ever on a Major World Tour, to win his 7th Japan Tour title. This last round included 12 birdies of which nine came in the first 11 holes.

This is the Srixon Z-STAR Golf Ball's 16th International Tour Win of 2010

SRIXON 1,2 AT THE VERIZON HERITAGE

Srixon 1, 2 at the Verizon Heritage at Harbour Town Links

Jim Furyk and Brian Davis (both playing the Srixon Z-Star golf ball range) battled it out over the final round of the Verizon Heritage with Davis forcing a play-off by birdying the notorious 72nd to leave the pair tied at 13 under par.

The tournament saw an extra twist when Davis hit his second shot onto the beach left of the green at the first play-off hole – he called a 2 shot penalty on himself for accidentally brushing a blade of grass on his back swing, leaving Furyk to take the title with a regulation par 4 – proof yet again of the extraordinary honesty and sportsmanship with which golfers play at the highest level of the game.

The win delivered Jim Furyk over $1,000,000 in prize money and his 15th PGA Tour title – his second in 4 weeks; whilst second position for Brian Davis gave him just over $600,000 and his 4th runner-up position as he strives for his breakthrough victory on the PGA Tour.

Jim Furyk moves back up to number 5 in the official world rankings and Brian Davis hits the world top 100. This is the 11th international tour win for the Srixon Z-Star golf ball range in 2010.

Another successful weekend for the Srixon Z-Star golf ball range.
FURYK ACES MASTERS WITH Z-START TOUR YELLOW GOLF BALL

Congratulations to Jim Furyk for his hole-in-one during the annual Par 3 Contest at the Masters.

Furyk played a Srixon Z-STAR Tour Yellow golf ball and used a Srixon Z-TX iron on his hole-in-one, which occurred on hole #9, a par-3, 135 yard hole.

During the Masters’ Par 3 Contest, Srixon Z-STAR Tour Yellow golf balls were also played by Vijay Singh, Tim Clark, Steve Flesch and Soren Kjeldsen. Both Vijay Singh and Tim Clark will be officially teeing up Srixon Z-STAR Tour Yellow golf balls during the Masters, which begins tomorrow.

“Jim’s hole-in-one the Masters’ Par 3 Contest was a great opportunity to showcase our new Z-STAR Tour Yellow golf ball,” said Chris Beck, Brand Manager for Srixon. “We knew having four players use it in the competition was a great way to increase the public’s awareness of this fantastic product, which has already been on tour for several months. Jim’s hole-out had our company’s phones ringing off the hook as golfers everywhere wanted to learn more about the Tour Yellow technology”.
HAT-TRICK OF WINS FOR BOONCHU & Z-STAR

Boonchu Ruangkit wins the 2010 Berenberg Bank Masters with the Srixon Z-Star 3 piece golf ball.

Boonchu Ruangkit made it 3 wins in a row on this years Seniors Tour, when a last round of 69 enabled him to capture the Berenberg Bank Masters at Fancourt in South Africa, with a 3 under par total and 3 shot winning margin
This followed on from his successes in Brunei and Thailand and means that when you include Kevin Spurgeon's win in Mauritius, that Z-STAR balls have won the first four events on this years Seniors Tour.

Good performances as well from SOREN KJELDSEN and GONZALO FERNANDEZ CASTANO, who both had top 10 finishes in the Andalucian Open in Malaga - an event that Kjeldsen had won in 2009.

Z-STAR Events have now won 9 events in 2010.

Another successful weekend for the Srixon Z-Star golf ball range.

JIM FURYK WINS THE TRANSITIONS CHAMPIONSHIP

JIM Furyk wins the 2010 Transitions Championship with the Srixon Z-Star 3 piece golf ball.

Jim Furyk, playing the Srixon Z-Star golf ball, teed up for the last round of the Transitions Championship on the Copperhead Course with a 3 shot advantage over the rest of the field.

However, KJ Choi, 2 times winner of the event, was soon to be hot on Furyk’s heels with 4 birdies in the first 6 holes. Furyk responded to the challenge in style, playing holes 8 through 15 in 2 under par to take back a 2 shot lead with 3 to play. Despite a bogey at the last, Furyk’s final round 69 was enough to give him a 13 under total of 271 for the tournament and victory over Choi by 1 shot.

This fantastic win takes Jim Furyk back to number 6 in the world rankings and gives the Srixon Z-Star golf ball its 6th international tour victory in 3.

A CLASSIC VICTORY FOR MIGUEL-ANGEL JIMENEZ

Miguel Angel Jimenez wins the 2010 Dubai Desert Classic with the Srixon Z-Star 3 piece golf ball.

The final round of the Dubai Desert Classic saw Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez and Englishman Lee Westwood battle it out over the final 18 holes – both carded 72's to tie for the top spot at 11 under par.

With both players making par at the first and second play-off holes, the battle continued to the third extra hole where Westwood missed a six foot putt for par. Jimenez held his nerve to sink a five footer and take the title from the European Tour's number one.

Having been runner-up on two previous occasions this finally gives Jimenez the Dubai win he's been looking for – he said, "like a fine wine, with age I just get better and better".

This return to form moves Jimenez to 4th spot in the Race to Dubai rankings and up to 30th in the world – giving him eligibility for the forthcoming majors. "I hope I have another chance to be on the top of a leaderboard and have many chances to win a Major. I would still love to win a Major in my career and I'm still working, still doing my things", he said.

Miguel Angel Jimenez plays the Srixon Z-Star 3 piece golf ball and has now captured nine of his 16 wins since turning 40.

SRIXON CELEBRATE TRIPLE VICTORIES ON TOUR

Staff players Jim Furyk, Robert Allenby and Chan Yih-Shin secure PGA, European and Asian Tour wins, taking the total to 35 wins for Srixon balls in 2009.

Srixon scored a triple victory this weekend with wins for PGA Tour professional Jim Furyk in the USA, European Tour professional Robert Allenby in South Africa and Chan Yih-Shin who secured the Kings Cup.

Furyk’s victory came courtesy of a final round five-under-par 67, including a sensational birdie-birdie finish, at the Chevron World Challenge, in Thousand Oaks, California.

It was the first victory in more than two years for the World Number Six who is hoping to maintain his winning momentum going into next year. “Hopefully this will be a stepping stone,” said Furyk, who admitted that his previous winning drought had “bothered him”.

Meanwhile out in South Africa an all-Srixon tussle between Australian Robert Allenby and Swede Henrik Stenson was taking place for the title of Nedbank Challenge champion on the European Tour.

The Srixon Tour Staff duo had tied on 11-under-par in regulation play, forcing a sudden-death play-off at Sun City. Allenby eventually beat Stenson at the third extra hole, securing his first victory in four years.
“I’m glad that’s over,” commented a relieved Allenby who is something of a play-off specialist having won 11 out of 12 attempts. “I did think we were going to be out here all night at one stage!” he added.

Furyk’s win at the Chevron World Challenge earned him $1.35 million and moved him to No. 6 in the world, while Allenby’s victory earned him $1.2 million and moved him up to No. 26 in the World Golf Rankings.

“I felt calmer until I got on the last green when it went a bit wobbly there. What a great place to get my first victory though – the Home of Golf. It couldn’t be better.”
ROLLINS WIN AT RENO-TAHOE

Playing the last day with Ryan Palmer (Texas neighbour and family friend), John Rollins moves to world number 61 with year to date earnings of over $2 million after winning the Legends Reno Tahoe Open with a 17 under par total including a tremendous second round 62.

Rollins said "It was a hang-on kind of day, I had to battle a lot of emotions." Rollins sank an 18-foot birdie putt on the second hole, but he double bogeyed the par-5 fourth after he had to take a penalty stroke for an unplayable lie in the right rough off the tee.

He chipped within 3 feet from 44 yards out on the 616-yard, par-5 fifth and made the birdie putt to make the turn at 36.

On the 584-yard 11th, he drove 351 yards down the right side of the fairway, hit his approach 212 yards to just short of the green and chipped in from nearly 40 feet to get to 19 under.

"Once that happened you kind of feel like, `Well now, we're OK. Let's settle down and let's finish this thing off," Rollins said.

Rollins won the 2002 Canadian Open and 2006 B.C. Open and was the runner-up earlier this year at the Buick Invitational and Honda Classic. The $540,000 winner's check pushed his season earnings beyond the $2 million mark for a tour career total of more than $12 million.

Rollins plays a Srixon Z-Star golf ball.

BEARWOOD LAKES ALL STAR SHOOTOUT

Monday, May 18th at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club, Berkshire started with rain filled skies and windy conditions, not perfect conditions for playing host to some of the worlds top tour professionals and some of your largest customers you might think. But, as the final preparations were being made to the course and the SKY Sports camera’s arrived with Di Stewart at around 3pm, the skies broke and the sun came out, to leave the lucky customers and competition winners with the realization that they were just about to tee it up on the back nine of the pristine Bearwood Lakes Golf Club with either Henrik Stenson (current world top 4 ranked player and recent winner of The Players Championship), David Howell (Ryder Cup Player), Miguel Angel Jimenez (current BMW PGA Champion) or Soren Kjeldsen (recent winner on the European Tour) in front of a growing crowd of invited guests, customers, competition winners and the golf course designer himself Guy Hockley.

The main event was focused around each Tour Pro hosting a Fourball in a Texas Scramble format 5 Hole play-off. Strict terms of the event were that each member of the team had to be responsible for one tee shot each. This was always going to be tricky as each team had to play off the championship tees with the wind in the faces for 4 of the 5 holes, which jointly measured over 1706 YDS which was made up of 2 Par 4’s, 2 Par 3’s and a Par 5.

The crowds, staff and specially invited guests were treated to an exhibition style event. With each player being photographed and interviewed about either their driving, iron play, wedge play or how they came to choose the particular Srixon ball that they play with.

They were then given complete access to roam amongst the players whilst they took part in the Shoot Out event in a completely relaxed mood, with each player happy to sign autographs and have their pictures taken on the way round.

The crowds following Jimenez, could not believe their luck when he threw down a towel on the 13th tee at the sight one of his amateur playing partners splitting the fairway perfectly from their tee shot. It only became clear what was going on when he dropped to his knees and struck his tee shot with a gentle fade down the left hand side of the fairway, to applause from the admiring followers.

Leslie Hepsworth, CEO Srixon Sports Europe, who was present, said "This is the perfect way to treat our top Customers and show them what great Ambassadors our Tour Players are for our two brands"

The Shoot Out ended up being a closely fought out contest with Jimenez, Kjeldsen and Stenson all finishing on 1 under par with team Howell claiming the honors on a score of 2 under par. Each amateur team member took home a framed photo signed by their tour player team captain, along with other signed memorabilia including caps and the score card from the day. Team Howell also picked up a Cleveland 3 wood each.

Andy Martin, Foremost Golf, said “It was the most fun I have had on a golf course in as long a time as I care to remember.
It was certainly a well organised day and for me to get a knock with winner from the European Tour is something that I will remember for a long time.”

When asked what the tour players thought of the day, Iain Steele, (Cleveland Golf / Srixon European Tour Operations Manager) was delighted to report that “The Players all thought it was one of the best corporate days that they have been a part of.”

In a memorable victory that didn’t involve the removal of any items of clothing, Srixon tour player Henrik Stenson shot a 66 at The Players Championship in Sawgrass to finish 12 under, winning by four from Ian Poulter.

Arguably the biggest win of his career, this stunning victory moves Stenson from 9th to 5th in the world. Stenson was also the only player to keep bogeys off his score card. This victory, his 10th in total also netted the 33-year-old Swede a cool $1.71 million.

"With the experience here, I know even better that I hope I can pull it off when it matters." he said.
